My Company

I believe that it is very important to take a minimum of one class each year. Even if it is a class that you have taken before it is surprising how much you can learn taking it again.

Here is a quick list of the quilting class I have taken.

April 2006 – extensive 2 weeks (total 1,000 hours) training in New Jersey for mastery of the APQS Millennium long arm machine. Learned more in two weeks than I would have learned on my own in over two years.

August 2006 –Custom Heirloom Class in Duluth, Minnesota by Karen McTavish.

June 2007 – Landscaping quilting class in Estes Park, Colorado by Cynthia England.

August 2008 – Wholecloth/ Trumpanto heirloom class in Westminster, Colorado by Karen McTavish

April 2009 – While at Paducah, Kentucky I took a quilt in a day class by Eleanor Burns

August 2009 – Four quilts that were quilted / finished by Ednas quilts are hanging in the Denver capitol building for a quilt show

I am still trying to find the right words to express my gratitude for the gift you gave to me. The quilt is SO beautiful! I’ve been sharing it with family and friends and every time I get tears in my eyes. I am very touched by your generosity. I have really enjoyed my students this year. They are all wonderful and full of great personality. Bonnie, our school will miss your leadership and I will miss your smile and chats in the hall. It has been a pleasure working with you this year.  Thank you , thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Testimonials

I'm really enjoying the binding on these quilts.  I'm finding so much stuff.  I found the mouse on the Pandora one, but I've not found it on the Kelsey quilt.  I was so thrilled to see the names of the dogs on the quilts.  I did not see the names at first.  I love the batting.  Oh, that stuff is great!

When I was going through the bag you gave me on Wednesday, I found the sweet letter you wrote to me.  Thank you very much.  What a great marketing tool.  The quilt is finished.  I sewed the binding for three days at each opportunity I got.  All finished ... all beautiful ... thanks to you.  Thanks, too, for the sweet little rose.  I will always think of you when I see this.  Is there a mouse in my quilt?  He's really hiding ... I can't find him yet!

You did such a great job on these quilts.  Thank you so much.  I'm trying my best to get at them and put the binding on them this weekend because the kids will be here most of next week.

You did a wonderful job.  As you suggested, I'm going to give them as their large Christmas gift this year.

I am Barbara, your Mom and John's friend here in Yuma.  I would like to thank you for the amazing quilt.  I love the pattern, it is so pretty and very different for the old quilt patterns that your Grandma made, I know she is very proud of you and your business. What a neat idea to use her name for your business and to name your machine Edna too is very nice.

I also really like your brochure and the cute "find the mouse idea". My husband Bernie and I had fun finding it.

Thank you so much for creating my beautiful table runner!  I just love it.  Can you tell me where your signature mouse is in it?  I can't seem to find it. Again, I truly appreciate the beauty of this table cover.

The baby quilt was a hit! Everyone at the shower LOVED it.  Especially the little animals that you made into quilt squares. Who could have known that you could make the animals without a pattern but just by looking at a picture?  Thank you so very much for providing a one of a kind gift for a one of a kind girl.

Thank you!  I love our family’s new quilt.  It’s full of love.  Bob’s mom, who made the squares was so full of love in everything she did in life. I love how the squares turned out after your quilting. I love the colors you used. I love the little squares and quilting in the corners around grandma’s squares. I love how you “listen” to what the square seem to tell you.  With Love and Thanks – Luann

I’ve copied Bonnie Keown of Edna’s quilts on this email.  She did an amazing job on our quilt and I’m happy to refer you to her for your parent’s 50th anniversary quilt.  I don’t know what your time frame is for this, but I wanted to send her contact info to you now while it’s still fresh in my mind.

You don't know me personally but you made a quilt for me through my daughter in law, Wendy King, and I am just writing to let you know how much it means to me and how much I appreciate the effort that you put into making such a beautiful work of art, it is truly amazing.  It was given to me on Christmas morning as a present from my children and I can tell you it brought tears to my eyes when I saw it. I have a very big family and I feel that I have been truly blessed and I love every one of them, they mean the world to me.  I also have lots of nephews, nieces and cousins who live about three hundred miles from where I live, I have just returned from a visit to them and of course I took my quilt to show them all, they were all amazed at the workmanship.

On Christmas morning most of my family came to visit me, the only ones missing were my youngest son and his wife, who also lives in Colorado, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. I attach a photo of them all also a photo of me when I got my magnificent quilt given to me. Thank you very much for making an old man very, very happy.

Please accept this as if it was as personal as a handwritten note.  I failed to get your physical address. It was such a joy to meet you last night.  You have a very welcoming personality and your passion about your craft/ gift was contagious.  You made me want to learn to quilt!  I am not in need of your professional services at this time but I will gladly refer you because of your friendly and enthusiastic attitude. the white quilt you made for your mom (if i remember correctly) was amazing!  I looked a bit closer after we spoke and I loved the different depths you created with the quilting.  You did a great job!

Thank you so much for the quilt! I curl up with it on the couch every evening – I just love it! The beautiful description letter is going in our wedding album!

Bonnie, when we met for you to do a quilt for my mother-in-law, she was beginning to develop Alzheimer’s.  You made such a beautiful memory quilt for her – complete with pictures of the family that she insists on having it on her lap all of the time.  Now, when we visit her she remembers us sooner than she used to – I believe it is due to having the pictures of her family on her quilt.  Thank you so very much for allowing us more quality time with mom. You are the best.

Edna’s Quilts – my mom sent a quilt to me for Christmas that you made. It was wonderful to have a piece of home. I did not know that it was possible to take t-shirts and make them into a quilt. Did I tell you that I am in the Army in Afghanistan and getting this quilt was the best! Can my buddies have their moms call you so that they will leave my quilt alone?

23 women sitting around tables with crayons coloring quilt squares. After 2 hours we made them stop so that we could have cake and open the other gifts. What a blast we all had coloring the squares and the quilt you put together is stunning. Thank you seems so inadequate to express the gratitude we have for this work of art. Thank you!!!
