Welcome to My Site
My name is Bonnie Keown and I am the owner/operator of Edna's Quilts. This site is named for my Grandmother, Edna Bloomer, who taught me to quilt and whose quilts my family still uses to this day. I have been quilting seriously since 2001. Most of my quilts between then and 2006 having been hand quilted.
About 2 years ago I began to be approached by friends and strangers about making quilts for them or finishing a quilt that they had already pieced. After considering the time and effort it would take to accomplish this I decided it would be better to do this with a long arm maching rather than hand quilting.
For most people the cost to have a quilt finished by a long arm machine fit into thier budgets better than hand quilting. And, I can finish the quilt faster too. This does not mean that I would not consider finishing a clients quilt by hand as long as they are willing to pay the price.
Meet My Grandmother Edna
This is Edna Bloomer, my grandmother. She has made more quilts in her lifetime than anyone could ever count. Grandma taught me the basics of quilting and has given me the love of making quilts. My grandma always said, "A blanket will warm the body, but a quilt will warm the soul", I love that saying. I always feel better when covered by a quilt, it is like a big warm hug.
